Montana St. 78, Carroll Mont. 75
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Ja'Ron Jefferson hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Montana State to 78-75 win Tuesday over Carroll College.
Carroll (10-2) led 75-70 on a Jeff Hays layup with 2:31 left, but MSU (3-4) rallied to avoid an upset to the seventh-ranked NAIA Saints. Marvin Moss scored his only basket of the game on a put-back with 1:55 remaining to cut the lead to 75-72.
Sinan Guler, who led all scorers with 27 points, fouled Jefferson with 1:16 left, and the senior guard hit the first free-throw to pull the Bobcats to 75-73. He missed the second attempt, but rebounded his miss.
Nick Dissly's 3-point try from the corner was long, but Al Beye slammed home the carom to tie the game at 75-all with 52 seconds on the clock.

After a Saints miss, the Bobcats got the ball back with just under 30 seconds remaining. Casey Durham found Jefferson open at the top of the key, and his shot found the mark.
Jefferson finished the game with 16 points. Brandon Miller had 14, including four 3-pointers. Durham scored 11, and Ted Morris had 10.
Hays scored 21 points for Carroll, including five 3-pointers, and Travis Williams added 10.
The Bobcats led by as much as 30-18 in the first half, following Jefferson's layup with 8:07 left. Guler's layup with 4:32 remaining capped a 7-point run and pulled the Saints to 33-31, but a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws by Carson Durr put MSU back up 38-31 with 3:17 left.
